We have opened our Jersey Gay Pride Royal Court for volunteer opportunities to people who are hard-working, community oriented, dependable, and dedicated to uplifting and educating our South Jersey communities.
Below are our current volunteer opportunities available:
The Royal Court is a volunteer-run program established to raise money for worthy charities focusing on LGBTQ+ issues. The Royal Court comprises entertainers such as drag kings/queens, comedians, radio personalities, singers, rappers, dancers, and more.
Royal Court members are role models to the LGBTQ+ community, especially our youth.
At the Royal Court, we foster a safe and vibrant space for entertainers to unleash their creativity. Here, they can dress and perform as self-defined royalty, creating a unique and empowering experience.
Our Royal Court is now open for application. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member should email with subject line "Royal Court" and our coordinator will contact you with further instruction. We are looking for persons who are community oriented, volunteering, hard-working and dedicated.
Jersey Gay Pride is a 100% volunteer run organization. It takes a leader to make any worthwhile volunteer project happen- that's where a volunteer coordinator comes in.
Description
Volunteer coordinators are put in place to ensure that the interests of volunteers are served and that the volunteer organization remains well staffed. They may coordinate and schedule volunteers on an ongoing basis or organize single events. Volunteer coordinators must also keep existing volunteers informed via newsletters or other communications.
Volunteer coordinators often work to actively recruit volunteers for their organization. They may reach out to established volunteers or seek new help using various marketing tools, including volunteer databases, e-mail letters, and outreach events. Individuals interested in pursuing a career in volunteer coordination must be detail-oriented and organized, since they may work on many projects at once.
They must also be outgoing and communicate effectively with a variety of people. Because they often work for mission-driven nonprofit organizations, volunteer coordinators must also adhere to the values of their organization and convey its purpose to others.
