COVID-19 Updates Regarding Jersey Gay Pride's Annual Celebrations

COVID-19 UPDATES - Jersey Gay Pride

SAFTETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY!!!

This is a public announcement about Jersey Gay Pride’s COVID-19 safety protocols. Please read this public announcement in its entirety.

The Jersey Gay Pride committee are so excited to finally see you in-person for our 13th Annual OUT In The Park Pride Festival at Cooper River Park in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. We also want to make sure you experience the festivities in the safest, healthiest way possible.

We are carefully crafting special protocols to help prevent spreading COVID-19. For instance, we will have free disposable masks, sanitizers, and spacers to encourage social distancing.

However, there are ways you can help us make pride as safe as possible too! First and foremost, if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, please do not attend this event, and seek medical attention immediately. Secondly, we encourage getting vaccinated for COVID-19, though it is not a requirement to take part in this event.

As you may know, COVID-19 is still very active and has even developed variants. Therefore, our pride planning committee will watch CDC and local government mandated restrictions that may cause us to cancel, reschedule, or change the capacity of our pride festival.

Please subscribe to our mailing list and follow us on Facebook for the most up to date COVID-19 information.

Warmest Regards,

COVID-19 UPDATES - Jersey Gay Pride

In light of current challenging conditions and in the best interest of public safety, we are TENTATIVELY scheduling our in-person festival on Sunday, September 12, 2021. No confirmations have been made.

This decision is not one that we take lightly, and one that has been made in order to preserve the safety of our community.

The length of our postponement is unclear at this time, but we are hopeful that it will only last a short while. Basically, that timing will be based upon unruly circumstances that we are hopeful will work in our favor sooner than later.

We are working harder than ever to serve you and celebrate the LGBTQ+ Pride, and supporting our amazing local businesses.  Although this process has been more painful to endure than we initially thought, we will get through this.

If you are interested in advertising in our monthly newsletter, social media, or website, please send us a support request.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves ,your family, your communities, and even your pets. If you are able, please consider supporting Jersey by:

  • Making a $5.00 donation to our Community Outreach and Support Fund via PayPal or CashApp $JerseyGayPride
  • Take the Jersey Gay Pride pledge against bullying and becoming a member of our Activists and Advocates Committee. Click here to get started.

We will continue to communicate with you on our efforts throughout this lapse, and we look forward to sharing positive news of our 2021 celebration.

Warmest Regards,

Thank you for being a part of the South Jersey Gay Pride family.

2019 and 2020 have been extremely challenging for everyone. Thus, we appreciate your continued support.

In light of current challenging conditions and in the best interest of public safety, we are postponing our Sunday, September 13, 2020 12th Annual Festival at Cooper River Park.

This decision is not one that we take lightly, and one that has been made in order to preserve the safety of our community.

We are working harder than ever to serve you and celebrate the LGBTQ+ Pride, and supporting our amazing local businesses.  Although this process has been more painful to endure than we initially thought, we will get through this.

If you are a vendor or applied to become a vendor, we will contact you no later than August 31, 2020 to advise how we may continue to work together. If you do not receive a response by September 1, 2020, please send us a support request.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves, your family, your communities, and even your pets. If you are able, please consider supporting Jersey by:

Due to the endless COVID-19 updates, we have not determined if South Jersey Gay Pride's festival on September 13, 2020 will continue as scheduled or be rescheduled or rearranged. We hope to have more answers by the end of May.

What we can confirm is that we have received our approved permit from the Camden County Parks Department, which is a crucial step in the pride planning process. This permit guarantees our festival will again take place at Cooper River Park's Victims of Terrorism Memorial in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Our confirmed vendors can contact us to discuss their attendance and other sales and marketing opportunities to help your business grow.

We are still accepting RFPs from entertainers who like to perform at an upcoming pride event.

As more information develops, we will most certainly keep you updated through this website, e-newsletter, blog, and social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you staying connected with South Jersey LGBTQA+ Pride.
