Thank you so much for your willingness to volunteer your time to help us put together another fabulous Jersey Gay Pride OUT in the Park Festival at Cooper River on September 8th. We are thrilled to share the roles and responsibilities below to help us create a successful pride festival.
We work to ensure our volunteers have a positive experience.
Join us in making our events a huge success! We look forward to hearing from you.
Volunteers are required to provide excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience collaborating with sponsors and media is preferred but not required. The role also demands mindfulness, reading and working with printed lists, following instructions, and working under pressure. A sense of humor and flexibility are not just preferred but required to create a positive and enjoyable work environment. It involves standing for long periods. Tasks may include assisting with press conferences, handing out credentials/passes to media and sponsors, greeting and directing sponsors and media, answering basic questions about the Pride event, and other tasks.
The approximate timeframe is all day (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Shifts are preferred.
The Information Booth role is not just about providing information. It is a unique opportunity for personal growth and learning. It is a chance to enhance your communication skills and learn more about the event. Volunteers should be comfortable with public interaction. They will interact with attendees, providing information about the location of stages, nearby venues, and services. The booth, located in the first row of vendors at the Pride Central Booth, is a fantastic place to meet and interact with people worldwide, offering a unique opportunity to connect with a diverse range of individuals!
The approximate timeframe is all day (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Shifts are preferred.
Our Main Stage production is in a professional setting. Also, volunteers should know they will interact with high-level artistic personnel backstage. We ask them to come with great attitudes and big smiles; this positive energy is vital to creating a vibrant and engaging event. Your cheerful outlook will not only be appreciated but will also contribute significantly to the event's overall atmosphere. We recommend wearing comfortable footwear as you will be working outdoors, on your feet, and walking throughout the day. The approximate timeframe is (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).
Volunteers can assist the vendor coordinator with organizing vendors pre and post-check-in into proper line-up positions along the designated vendor areas. You will help direct pedestrian traffic, assist disabled people, check the adequate placement of vehicles, and help vendors progress onto their designated vendor space, where you help with crowd control and keep the vendor spacing at a proper place by preventing significant gaps from forming — ensuring it runs smoothly and safely. Your role is crucial in providing clear communication and maintaining order in a busy, loud environment. Other activities will mainly be packing/unpacking, loading/unloading vehicles, or other items at the Festival site. Volunteers must be comfortable speaking loudly and instructing large groups, with the physical ability to stay upright and active for a few hours. The nature of the role requires strong English skills to ensure clear communication and to remain calm in a busy, loud environment. The approximate timeframe is all day (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Shifts are preferred.
The primary responsibility of a headcount volunteer is to keep an approximate number of people attending the festival. The approximate timeframe is 12:00 PM—6:00 PM.
This role is best suited for someone outgoing and a great communicator. Your responsibilities include requesting subscribers to our newsletter. You will be provided with an electronic device that must be returned at the end of your shift. The approximate timeframe is 1:00 PM—6:00 PM.
